RED BULL SURF CINEMA | BRIGHTON BIG SCREEN
Red Bull organised a surf cinema evening called Bending Colours as part of the Brighton Big Screen outside event on Sunday 18th August 2013, 08.30pm - 10.30pm, next to Brighton Pier. As part of the movie line-up, Red Bull selected two of my films: THIS IS MY DAY and WESTPIER.

WESTPIER
My inspiration for making this short film was quite simply my love of surfing next to such a magnificent structure.Built in 1866, the West Pier has been closed and deteriorating since 1975, awaiting renovation, although after two fires and several storms, little is left in situ. The West Pier to me, even in it's current state is truly a thing of beauty. Surfing beside it is an extremely humbling experience that very few of us experience.

JUST NOW
In December 2012 my buddy Julian Faasen invited me over to Cape Town as one of five best men to his wedding. The trip lasted 3 weeks in which time we begged, borrowed and stole surfboards to surf as much as possible, before, during and after the wedding.
