A MID SUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM TOUR 2022 BY THE DUKE'S THEATRE COMPANY

The Duke’s Theatre Company returns after their critically acclaimed inaugural adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in 2020.

This new, ambitious production for Summer 2022, with live music, stunning design and theatrical magic, promises to delight audiences with Shakespeare’s most comic and celebrated fairy tale.

Their ethos is to bring high end, accessible outdoor productions of some of our greatest Classical works to rural communities with energy and accuracy. Breathing new life into the verse, we aim to communicate how these timeless masterpieces are still relevant today, by engaging audiences both young and old.

Live music adds a fresh and robust elementto our productions, which are still entirely faithful to the original text. With a core team of classically trained actors and musicians who breathe vital new life into the play’ and ‘or can quote the bard by heart, a Duke’s Theatre Company production will excite and engage everyone’.

The Fairy Kingdom is at War.
Oberon and Titania’s m
arital mayhem unleashes chaos on four young lovers with disastrous – and hilarious - consequences. In another part of the forest, a troupe of aspiring actors prepare for the most important night of their lives - a command performance before the Duke and Duchess. As the King and Queen of the Fairy Kingdom become entwined with the human world, a night of madness, mayhem, magic, love, hilarity ensues… (don’t forget the donkey!)
